Older refrigerators and freezers can use more electricity than any other appliance in your home, so retiring them can mean real savings. 

Refrigerators and freezers that are 10 years and older, between 10 and 25 cubic feet and in working condition are eligible for pick up and rebates from Efficiency Nova Scotia.  

Efficiency Nova Scotia will pick up your old, working refrigerator or freezer for free and properly recycle it making sure the CFCs are removed.  You will then receive a $30.00 rebate.  Non-working appliances do not use electricity so therefore are not eligible for pick up.
