The Municipality of Yarmouth recognizes the economic challenges faced by residents and is committed to supporting them. A one-time tax rebate program is being offered to provide targeted relief to alleviate inflationary burdens for middle-income* households.

Timeline
Applications are currently available for the one-time tax rebate program, however applications can only be submitted between August 1, 2024 to September 9, 2024. Rebate cheques will be sent through Canada Post in October and November of 2024, and incomplete applications will not be processed.

    2. Visit the Municipal Office at 932 Highway 1 in Hebron, 8AM-5PM, Monday to Friday.

Who Qualifies?

Total household income must fall into one of the following levels:
  1. Level 1 ($200 Rebate): $29,878-$44,999
  2. Level 2 ($175 Rebate): $45,000-$59,999
  3. Level 3 ($150 Rebate): $60,000-$69,999
  4. Level 4 ($100 Rebate): $70,000-$79,999
Applicants are required to prove their household income amount by providing the 2023 CRA Notice of Assessment in the application for all income earners in the household.

As well, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Rebate only applies to the Primary residence and it must be located in the Municipality;
  2. All taxes (for all assessment accounts), fees, and fines due to the Municipality must be paid in full
  3. Seasonal, commercial, and secondary residences do not qualify
