1. Director of Planning and Development Services

The Municipality of the District of Yarmouth is looking for an experienced professional to fill the full-time role of Director of Planning and Development Services. As a member of the Municipality’s management team, the Director of Planning and Development Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, planning and day-to-day operations of the Planning and Development department. As the Municipality’s planner they will be primarily responsible for the development and amendment of planning documents that will guide and regulate development activities in the Municipality, and identify how land use policies may affect the overall direction of growth and development in the Municipality.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree or diploma in planning or a related field and will be a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), or eligible for membership.  Experience in a municipal setting would be an asset.  This position also requires well developed interpersonal, public relations, presentation and technical writing skills.  Experience mentoring, coaching and supervising staff is also essential.

This is a full-time job with a salary (commensurate with education and experience) in the range of $85,000 – 104,998.

2. Administration and Taxation Assistant

The Municipality of the District of Yarmouth is looking to fill the position of Administration and Taxation Assistant. This position will provide administrative support to the Administration and Finance Departments, as well as provide support for the taxation function of the Municipality.

Salary Scale is $43,055 – 59,821 and starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

3. Senior Manager, Finance for Mariners Centre

The Mariners Centre is seeking an experienced professional to fill the full-time position of Senior Manager of Finance. As a member of the Mariners Centre team, the Senior Manager of Finance is responsible for financial planning and management, including developing, implementing, and overseeing operating and capital budgets, monitoring financial performance, managing cash flow, and preparing financial reports.

This role is primarily responsible for overseeing the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions for operations, capital projects, and health and wellness funds. The Senior Manager of Finance will also ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.  Experience in a public sector setting would be an asset. 

This is a full-time job with a salary in the range of $85,000 – 105,000.
