1. Director of Planning and Development Services
The Municipality of the District of Yarmouth is looking for an experienced professional to fill the full-time role of Director of Planning and Development Services. As a member of the Municipality’s management team, the Director of Planning and Development Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, planning and day-to-day operations of the Planning and Development department. As the Municipality’s planner they will be primarily responsible for the development and amendment of planning documents that will guide and regulate development activities in the Municipality, and identify how land use policies may affect the overall direction of growth and development in the Municipality.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree or diploma in planning or a related field and will be a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), or eligible for membership. Experience in a municipal setting would be an asset. This position also requires well developed interpersonal, public relations, presentation and technical writing skills. Experience mentoring, coaching and supervising staff is also essential.
This is a full-time job with a salary (commensurate with education and experience) in the range of $85,000 – 104,998.

2. Administration and Taxation Assistant
The Municipality of the District of Yarmouth is looking to fill the position of Administration and Taxation Assistant. This position will provide administrative support to the Administration and Finance Departments, as well as provide support for the taxation function of the Municipality.
Salary Scale is $43,055 – 59,821 and starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

3. Emergency Management Coordinator
Yarmouth Regional Emergency Management Organization, a partnership of the Town of Yarmouth and the Municipalities of Argyle and Yarmouth, is seeking a qualified and motivated Emergency Management Coordinator to support the Yarmouth Regional Emergency Management Organization (REMO). Reporting jointly to the three Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), the Emergency Management Coordinator is responsible for ensuring regional compliance with the Nova Scotia Emergency Management Act, associated regulations, and the Yarmouth REMO By-laws. This position plays a critical role in emergency preparedness, training, response coordination, and policy support for the region.
This is a full-time job with a salary (commensurate with education and experience) in the range of $68,000 - $78,000.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in emergency management or a related discipline, post secondary education in Public Safety, Public Administration, or a related field, and working knowledge of the Nova Scotia Emergency Management Act.

4. Grant and Procurement Coordinator
The Municipality of the District of Yarmouth is looking for an experienced professional to fill the full-time role of Grant and Procurement Coordinator. This position is responsible for providing leadership and guidance in identifying, securing and managing funding opportunities for municipal priorities/initiatives. This position is also the Primary point of contact for all procurement services, while supporting and improving the procurement process.
This is a full-time job with a salary (commensurate with education and experience) in the range of $60,000 - $72,000.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in business or equivalent experience with a focus in finance/accounting. Experience in public procurement and contract management is an asset. Two years’ experience in a financial position preferred. Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines is essential in this position.
