Notice of Public Hearing
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that during its Regular Council meeting on December 18, 2024, the Council of the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth approved the first reading of amendments to the Municipality’s Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law.
In accordance with Section 206 of the Municipal Government Act, the Council intends to hold a Public Hearing to consider amendments to the text of the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law. These amendments will address short-term rentals in a manner substantially similar to what is outlined in Appendix A of the Public Participation Meeting report dated October 24, 2024.
The Public Hearing will take place:
- Date: Wednesday, January 22, 2025
- Time: 6:00 PM
- Location: Council Chambers, Municipal Administration Building, #932 Highway 1, Hebron
The proposed document and Appendix A can be viewed pdfhere or in person at the Municipal Administration Building between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) up until the day of the Public Hearing. Printed copies are available for a fee.

Public Participation Meeting
There will be a Public Participation meeting for the Municipality of Yarmouth being held on
Thursday, October 24th at 6 PM at the Brooklyn Hall (200 Brooklyn Road, Brooklyn).
This is regarding the following amendment currently under consideration:
Proposed Amendment to MPS & LUB to Align with Provincial Requirements; Short Term Rental Policies.
The purpose of this meeting is for the public to comment on and discuss the amendment.
