Changes Made to Low-Income Tax Exemption

Details

The Municipality has made several key changes to its Low Income Tax Exemption Policy, including changing its name to the Income-Targeted Property Tax Exemption. This is to better reflect current income levels and improve clarity for residents.

Most notably, eligibility is now based on updated household income brackets, with exemption amounts set at $300, $200, or $100 depending on total household income (based upon the previous taxation year).

Application deadlines have also been changed, with applications accepted from January 1 to March 15 each year. These updates are intended to make the program more transparent, consistent, and responsive to changing economic conditions. The full policy and the application can be found pdf HERE.

Dry Well Relief Program - UPDATE

💧 Dry Well Relief Program Update💧
Starting Monday, November 17, program hours will be:
🔹Tuesday: 10am - 2pm
🔹Wednesday: 10am - 2pm
🔹Thursday: 10am - 2pm
Participants must sign a new form confirming that their wells are dry to remain eligible for the program. Thank you!

Admin Fee Waived for Water Supply Upgrade Lending Program

Details
At the latest meeting (Oct 22, 2025), Council voted to waive the $300 Administration Fee for the Water Supply Upgrade Lending Program, retroactive to April 1, 2025, until March 31, 2026.
This means residents applying for the program during this time will not be charged the administration fee.

Dry Well Relief Program - Fall 2025

Details

💧Dry Well Relief Program 2025 💧
The Municipality of the District of Yarmouth is providing water vouchers to residents currently experiencing dry wells. These coupons can be exchanged for drinking water at select retail locations

*This program is still ongoing. No end date has been given at this time; consider it underway until you hear otherwise.*

Where to Pick Up Coupons:
📍 Municipality of Yarmouth – 932 Highway 1, Hebron
🕘 Hours:
Monday to Thursday
9:00 – 11:30 am and 1:30 – 3:30 pm
Wednesdays 5-7pm

Program Details:
➡️ Each household can receive 4L of bottled water per person per day
➡️ Maximum: four 4L jugs per household per day
➡️ Eligibility: Only households who currently have a dry well and are in the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth
➡️ Coupons are valid up to Nov. 30, 2025
➡️ New coupons can be picked up weekly
➡️ Each coupon can be exchanged for one 4L jug of water (no substitutes)

Sewer Bills Due: Oct 31st

Details

Reminder: Sewer Bills Are Now Due

Sewer bills for the September 1 to November 30, 2025 billing period are now available.

Due Date: October 31, 2025
Interest: Will begin to accrue on November 1, 2025

Bills can be picked up at the Municipal Office, or they can be emailed by calling the office to provide an email address.

✅ Please ensure payment is made by the due date to avoid interest charges.
